What Is Pengu?
The huddle holds.
Pengu is the token of Pudgy Penguins, the NFT collection that escaped crypto altogether: its penguins became toys on retail shelves and GIFs in group chats before the token launched on Solana in late 2024 with one of the era's biggest airdrops. It is a memecoin by structure and a consumer brand by behaviour, and on the CFGI Pengu fear and greed index that distinction shows up in the data.
The CFGI read: Pengu's defining day is 11 October 2025. The score bottomed at 21 out of 100 with the price at $0.0217 on the single worst breadth day we have measured in crypto, when 93 of the 96 coins then tracked closed in Fear or worse and 17 of them in Extreme Fear. Pengu itself never joined the 17: in 342 days on the index it has not closed in Extreme Fear once. Penguins survive winter by huddling, and this crowd huddles.
Pengu Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The summer before was the manic chapter. A 28-point surge on 22 July 2025 took the score from 59 to 87, the first of two straight days in Extreme Greed that peaked at 88 on 23 July with the price at $0.0410; the price itself topped at $0.0435 on 27 July 2025. That burst followed a ten-day run at Greed or better from 28 June to 7 July 2025. The unwinding was brutal in exactly one spot: a 35-point drop from 71 to 36 on 25 August 2025, the worst single day of the window.
Since then the mood has been a long shallow trough rather than a collapse. The hardest stretch ran 15 days at Fear or worse from 30 January to 13 February 2026, and the price low of $0.0058 arrived on 13 July 2026, near the end of a window in which the price fell 27% overall, from $0.0086 to $0.0063. Across the full year the ledger shows 106 days of Fear against 49 of Greed and 2 of Extreme Greed, one thread in the picture the Fear and Greed Index reads across the whole market.
The window closes 26 July 2026 at 54 out of 100, in Neutral: the huddle, intact, waiting for the weather to turn.

Pengu Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the Pengu Fear and Greed Index today?
The Pengu Fear and Greed Index today is 50/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Pengu market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the Pengu Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Pengu fear and greed reading.
What is a good Pengu Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the Pengu Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Pengu market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the Pengu Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the Pengu market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the Pengu Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the Pengu Fear and Greed Index updated?
The Pengu Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Pengu market conditions shift.
What does a low Pengu Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Pengu market.
What does a high Pengu Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Pengu market.
