What Is Solana?

The composed sprinter.

Solana is the speed play of the layer 1s, a blockchain launched in 2020 around proof of history, a clock baked into the chain that lets it clear transactions at exchange-like pace. It became the venue where consumer crypto actually happens: memecoin frenzies, payments, DeFi at retail scale. You would expect the fastest venue to have the twitchiest crowd. On the CFGI Solana fear and greed index, the record says otherwise, most of the time.

The CFGI read: Solana spent 235 of the past 365 days in Neutral, more than any other zone by a wide margin, and by average fearfulness it ranks a placid 94th of the tokens with a full year of history. But when its composure breaks, it breaks properly: 4 days of Extreme Fear, the 18th most among those same 104, with the deepest at 16 out of 100 on 5 February 2026 at $78.92, a day when 98 of the 102 tokens we then tracked were in Fear or worse. Calm on average, violent at the tails.

Solana Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The year was heavy. From 27 July 2025 to 26 July 2026 the price fell 59.7%, from $187.53 to $75.61, having touched $248.39 on 18 September 2025 and a low of $62.18 on 6 June 2026. Sentiment peaked at 78 out of 100 on 12 September 2025, at $239.78, inside a seven-day Greed run, and not once in 365 days did the crowd reach Extreme Greed.

The tails are where the character shows. On 11 October 2025 Solana closed in Extreme Fear; two days later it posted the year's biggest jump, 36 points from 24 to 60, straight through Fear and out the other side without pausing. The year's biggest drop had the same shape, 27 points from 75 to 48 on 25 August 2025. This crowd does not simmer. It snaps, reprices, and moves on, which is exactly the pattern the Fear and Greed Index is built to catch.

The worst sustained stretch, 10 days in Fear or worse from 29 January to 7 February 2026, bracketed the deepest reading of the year and the whole market's low with it: the market-wide gauge printed 12 out of 100 on 5 February 2026, the same day Solana touched 16. Among the majors we track, few spend so long composed and break so decisively.

Solana Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Solana Fear and Greed Index today?

The Solana Fear and Greed Index today is 42/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Solana market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Solana Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Solana fear and greed reading.

What is a good Solana Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Solana Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Solana market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Solana Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Solana market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Solana Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Solana Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Solana Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Solana market conditions shift.

What does a low Solana Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Solana market.

What does a high Solana Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Solana market.

Can I get alerts when the Solana Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track Solana sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific Solana Fear and Greed Index score changes.
