What Is BNB?

The house token.

BNB is the exchange token of Binance, sold in a 2017 token sale, burned quarterly against revenue, and used as the gas of BNB Chain. It is as close as crypto gets to owning a piece of the casino floor, and on our index its crowd behaves accordingly: comfortable, confident, and slower to panic than the market around it, right up until the week the whole floor shook.

The CFGI read: BNB spent more of the past year in Extreme Greed than in Extreme Fear, 11 days against 4, while the whole-market index logged 7 days of Extreme Fear and none of Extreme Greed. Its peak was emphatic, 86 out of 100 on 7 October 2025, printed on the same day the price topped at $1,316.18, sentiment and price summiting together. The mirror image came on 5 February 2026, a 12 out of 100 with the price at $613.21, on a day when 98 of the 102 assets we then scored closed in Fear or worse.

BNB Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The one week the house lost its nerve is the most violent entry in BNB's file. On 10 October 2025 the crowd fell 52 points in a single day, from 79 to 27, Greed to Fear between one close and the next, and by 11 October the wider panic had become the broadest of the year, 17 of 96 tokens closing in Extreme Fear together. Three days later BNB's crowd jumped 32 points, from 46 back to 78. Sentiment round-tripped in under a week; the price never did, sliding 31.1% across the year from $832.80 to $573.56 with the low of $546.15 on 30 June 2026.

Around that violence sits a genuinely relaxed crowd. BNB logged a 16-day run in Greed or better from 7 to 22 September 2025 and six consecutive days of Extreme Greed from 3 to 8 October 2025, and ranked by average fearfulness it comes in 98th of 104, one of the calmest means on the combined crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index. The worst stretch, 15 days in Fear or worse from 30 January to 13 February 2026, matched the February market break. On 26 July 2026 it reads 45, in Neutral, the house quietly counting its chips.

BNB Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the BNB Fear and Greed Index today?

The BNB Fear and Greed Index today is 64/100 on the daily view, showing Greed. It summarizes live BNB market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the BNB Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one BNB fear and greed reading.

What is a good BNB Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the BNB Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the BNB market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the BNB Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the BNB market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the BNB Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the BNB Fear and Greed Index updated?

The BNB Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as BNB market conditions shift.

What does a low BNB Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the BNB market.

What does a high BNB Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the BNB market.

Can I get alerts when the BNB Fear and Greed Index changes?
