What Is Horizen?
The reinvented veteran.
Horizen has lived several lives. Born in 2017 as the privacy coin ZenCash, it grew into a sidechain platform and then, in July 2025, executed its boldest move yet: migrating ZEN entirely to an ERC-20 on Base, the Coinbase-incubated Ethereum Layer 2, to rebuild as a modular privacy appchain with zero-knowledge proofs at its core. So although the ticker is one of the oldest in crypto, the ZEN that joined the CFGI Horizen fear and greed index on 10 July 2026 is, in market terms, a fresh start.
The CFGI read: The crowd's first 17 days have been a study in quick corrections. The floor of 31 out of 100 came on 13 July with the price at $4.02, on a day when 114 of the cryptos we score closed in Fear or worse. Within 48 hours the score stood at its window high of 62, Greed, on 15 July, matching the price high of $4.35. That single Greed day remains the only one so far.
Horizen Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The ledger so far reads 6 days of Fear, 10 of Neutral and that solitary Greed close, for an average of 44. The temper cuts both ways: a 16-point jump on 14 July, from 31 to 47, and a 20-point drop on 18 July, from 57 to 37. A 3-day Fear spell from 22 to 24 July coincided with the price low of $4.01 on 24 July, then lifted.
Through all of it the price barely moved, down 1.7% across the window from $4.16 to $4.09, which makes the sentiment swings the more telling signal: a small crowd repricing its own conviction rather than reacting to the chart. Horizen enters its second month at 40, Neutral, a nine-year-old name writing a brand-new record on the full crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index.

ZEN Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the ZEN Fear and Greed Index today?
The ZEN Fear and Greed Index today is 44/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live ZEN market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the ZEN Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one ZEN fear and greed reading.
What is a good ZEN Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the ZEN Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the ZEN market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the ZEN Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the ZEN market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the ZEN Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the ZEN Fear and Greed Index updated?
The ZEN Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as ZEN market conditions shift.
What does a low ZEN Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the ZEN market.
What does a high ZEN Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the ZEN market.
