What Is USAT?

The dollar that shrugs.

USAT is Tether's American stablecoin, issued through Anchorage Digital Bank, the only federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, and built to operate inside the GENIUS Act framework with reserves held in cash and short-dated Treasuries. It is engineered never to move: one token, one dollar. That makes it the strangest instrument on the CFGI USAT fear and greed index, because once price is pinned, sentiment is the only thing left to measure, and here it is measured pure.

The CFGI read: In its first 19 days on the index since 8 July 2026, USAT's price covered a total range of five hundredths of a cent, from $0.9996 to $1.0001. Its sentiment score covered 20 points. When the reading touched its floor of 43 out of 100 on 18 July 2026, 124 of the tokens we track were in Fear or worse; USAT itself did not so much as leave Neutral. The peg held, and so did the mood.

USAT Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

Nineteen days is a short record, and we frame it as one, but the shape is already distinct: 15 days in Neutral, 4 in Greed, and Fear of any kind barely registering. The score's biggest move was upward, a 14-point jump from 45 to 59 on 13 July 2026, against a worst daily fall of just 9 points on 17 July 2026. The high of 63 printed on 21 July 2026 with the price at exactly $1.00, which is the whole product in one line.

By 26 July 2026 USAT sat at 61, in Greed, ten points above the main Fear and Greed Index, which closed the same day at a Neutral 51. With the dollar side welded in place, what this crowd is pricing is the token's story, its adoption, its flows and the regulatory ground it stands on, not the chart. On an index built to read emotion against price, USAT is the control experiment: all emotion, no price.

USAT Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the USAT Fear and Greed Index today?

The USAT Fear and Greed Index today is 55/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live USAT market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the USAT Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one USAT fear and greed reading.

What is a good USAT Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the USAT Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the USAT market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the USAT Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the USAT market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the USAT Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the USAT Fear and Greed Index updated?

The USAT Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as USAT market conditions shift.

What does a low USAT Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the USAT market.

What does a high USAT Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the USAT market.

Can I get alerts when the USAT Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track USAT sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific USAT Fear and Greed Index score changes.
