What Is Theta?
Grumbles, never screams.
Theta is a decentralised video and edge-computing network from the 2018 vintage of crypto infrastructure, built to let users share bandwidth and GPU power for streaming and, more recently, for AI workloads through its EdgeCloud platform. It is one of the longer-serving names on our board, first scored on 28 June 2022, which makes its sentiment record unusually well seasoned. The CFGI Theta fear and greed index describes a very particular crowd: one that complains constantly and panics never.
The CFGI read: Across the past year Theta closed 145 days in Fear, more than a third of the window, yet not one day in Extreme Fear, and not one in Extreme Greed either. Its average of 43 out of 100 makes it the 32nd most fearful crowd of the tokens we rank, but the entire year fits between 23 and 66 out of 100. The price offered no such restraint: it fell 85.1% from $0.92 on 27 July 2025 to $0.14, with the low of $0.13 on 30 June 2026.
Theta Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The floor of 23 came on 11 October 2025 at $0.48, the day the whole market washed out, with 93 of the 96 tokens we scored in Fear or worse and 17 in Extreme Fear. Theta joined the gloom and refused the extreme, which is the pattern of its whole year. Its longest sour stretch was an 11-day Fear-or-worse run from 13 November 2025, and its ceiling, 66 out of 100 in Greed, dates back to 13 September 2025 at $0.88, before the long slide set in.
The swings say the same thing as the zones: the worst single day was a 21-point drop on 14 December 2025 and the best a 22-point jump on 7 November 2025, sharp but never unhinged. Theta enters its fifth year of coverage at 36 out of 100, in Fear, a worn-down reading from a crowd that has watched an 85% drawdown without once reaching for the panic button, the kind of long-memory behaviour the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market is built to keep honest.

Theta Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the Theta Fear and Greed Index today?
The Theta Fear and Greed Index today is 54/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Theta market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the Theta Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Theta fear and greed reading.
What is a good Theta Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the Theta Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Theta market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the Theta Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the Theta market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the Theta Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the Theta Fear and Greed Index updated?
The Theta Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Theta market conditions shift.
What does a low Theta Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Theta market.
What does a high Theta Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Theta market.
