What Is Spark?

Flat tape, live wire.

Spark is the lending and savings arm of the Sky ecosystem, the rebranded MakerDAO, deploying stablecoin reserves through SparkLend and its savings products. The SPK token, launched in 2025, governs and stakes into that machine, which makes it about as close as DeFi gets to a balance-sheet business. On the CFGI Spark fear and greed index, the balance sheet is calm and the shareholders are not.

The CFGI read: Spark's price closed its first 17 days on the index down just 0.5%, from $0.0174 to $0.0173, one of the flattest tapes a token can print. The sentiment underneath travelled 24 points, from 30 out of 100 on 17 July 2026 to 54 on 21 July 2026, with a 16-point drop and a 16-point jump landing three days apart. When the tape says nothing, the mood becomes the whole story.

Spark Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

Spark joined the index on 10 July 2026 and opened with five straight days in Fear or worse. The low came on 17 July 2026, a score of 30 at $0.0167, also the price low of the window, on a day when 119 of the tokens we track were in Fear or worse. Three days later the crowd swung 16 points the other way, and by 21 July 2026 the score touched its high of 54 at $0.0175.

It ends the window at 43, in Neutral, with the ledger reading 11 days of Fear, 6 of Neutral, no Greed, and an average of 40 out of 100, a touch more anxious than the Neutral 51 that the whole-market Fear and Greed Index closed the same day at. Crowds that churn this much on a motionless tape tend to move fast when the tape finally speaks.

SPK Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the SPK Fear and Greed Index today?

The SPK Fear and Greed Index today is 41/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live SPK market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the SPK Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one SPK fear and greed reading.

What is a good SPK Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the SPK Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the SPK market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the SPK Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the SPK market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the SPK Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the SPK Fear and Greed Index updated?

The SPK Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as SPK market conditions shift.

What does a low SPK Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the SPK market.

What does a high SPK Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the SPK market.

Can I get alerts when the SPK Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track SPK sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific SPK Fear and Greed Index score changes.
