What Is Sky?

Old money, new name.

Sky is what MakerDAO became: the 2024 rebrand of DeFi's original credit institution, with SKY succeeding MKR as the governance token and USDS carrying on the work of the DAI stablecoin. Nothing else in decentralised finance has been managing collateral this long. The CFGI Sky fear and greed index began covering it on 8 July 2026, and the early record fits the institution: a crowd that leans confident, priced against a token that has barely moved.

The CFGI read: Sky is the rare young listing whose price ended its opening window higher than it began, up 3.2% from $0.05586 to $0.05763, and its crowd spent most of that window above the midline: 4 days in Greed, 13 in Neutral, just 2 in Fear, for an average of 52. The peak, 64 out of 100 on 22 July 2026, printed at $0.06339, the highest price of the window. Mood and market topped to the day.

Sky Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The turn came at the end. Two days after the peak, on 24 July 2026, the index dropped 16 points from 56 to 40, and the window closes with its first and only Fear readings, on 25 and 26 July, today's 36 out of 100 standing as the lowest of the whole run. The price gave back only cents, easing from $0.06339 to $0.05763; the emotion gave back 28 points from peak to close. For a crowd this steeped in collateral ratios, the feeling moved far faster than the balance sheet.

Nineteen days is a thin file for an institution with Maker's history, but the shape is already distinct on the full crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index: an early 16-point jump from 43 to 59 on 10 July 2026, a two-day Greed spell on 14 and 15 July, the run to 64, and now a cautious close. The oldest balance sheet in DeFi has a brand-new mood swing to manage.

SKY Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the SKY Fear and Greed Index today?

The SKY Fear and Greed Index today is 40/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live SKY market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the SKY Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one SKY fear and greed reading.

What is a good SKY Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the SKY Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the SKY market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the SKY Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the SKY market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the SKY Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the SKY Fear and Greed Index updated?

The SKY Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as SKY market conditions shift.

What does a low SKY Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the SKY market.

What does a high SKY Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the SKY market.

Can I get alerts when the SKY Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track SKY sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific SKY Fear and Greed Index score changes.

Yes. The CFGI widget lets you embed a live SKY Fear and Greed Index on your website, so visitors can see current SKY sentiment, live scores and market conditions without you building the data system yourself.
