What Is Rootstock Infrastructure Framework?
Bitcoin's volatile understudy.
Rootstock Infrastructure Framework, RIF, is the utility token of the Rootstock ecosystem, a smart contract sidechain secured by Bitcoin's own miners through merge-mining. RIF pays for the services built on top, naming, payments, storage, the unglamorous plumbing of a Bitcoin that can run applications. The purpose is infrastructure. RIF's crowd, as CFGI tracks it, is anything but infrastructural.
The CFGI read: RIF arrived on the index on 8 July 2026 in Extreme Greed, at 81 out of 100 with the price at $0.13, and held Greed or better for its first three days. Nineteen days later it closed at 21, in Fear, with the price at $0.083. Between those two points it touched four of our five zones, 5 days of Fear, 7 of Neutral, 6 of Greed and 1 of Extreme Greed, and its average of exactly 50 is the most misleading number on the page. The mean says balance. The path says whiplash.
Rootstock Infrastructure Framework Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The price explains some of it: a 38.1% fall across the window, from $0.13 to $0.083, with the high of $0.14 on 9 July 2026 and the low of $0.07 on 22 July, the same day the score found its floor of 20 out of 100. But the crowd amplified everything. The two largest swings of its record came in the final days, a 34 point leap from 28 to 62 on 24 July 2026, then a 38 point plunge from 59 to 21 on 26 July to close the window.
For scale, the wider Fear and Greed Index for the whole market has not moved more than 28 points in a single day since last August, and RIF just did 38 in one session and 34 in another within the same week. Nineteen days is too early to call a temperament, but the opening statement is loud: a Bitcoin-secured token with none of Bitcoin's composure.

RIF Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the RIF Fear and Greed Index today?
The RIF Fear and Greed Index today is 37/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live RIF market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the RIF Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one RIF fear and greed reading.
What is a good RIF Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the RIF Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the RIF market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the RIF Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the RIF market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the RIF Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the RIF Fear and Greed Index updated?
The RIF Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as RIF market conditions shift.
What does a low RIF Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the RIF market.
What does a high RIF Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the RIF market.
