What Is Pnut?

Mourning turned mania.

Pnut is the Solana meme coin born from Peanut the squirrel, the pet whose seizure and euthanising by New York authorities in late 2024 turned into a viral cause. The coin has long outlived the outrage, which means the crowd holding it now trades on momentum rather than memory, and on the CFGI Pnut fear and greed index that crowd has left one of the stranger fingerprints we track: its terror and its euphoria sit in completely different price regimes.

The CFGI read: Pnut's crowd was most frightened at 17 out of 100 on 11 October 2025, with the price at $0.1363, one of 17 tokens out of 96 that closed in Extreme Fear on the broadest panic day we have measured in crypto. It was most euphoric at 80, Extreme Greed, on 17 April 2026, with the price at $0.0648, less than half the level that had terrified it six months earlier. The euphoria lasted exactly one day.

Pnut Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

Two days after that peak, on 19 April 2026, the score collapsed 36 points in a single session, from 76 to 40, the hardest one-day fall in its history. Across 332 days from June 2025 the token logged 121 days in Fear against 29 in Greed, and its longest run of gloom, 16 straight days in Fear or worse from 29 January to 13 February 2026, wrapped around 5 February, the day the whole crypto market's reading bottomed at 12.

The price gave the crowd little to work with, falling 79% across the window from $0.2053 to $0.0430, off a high of $0.3189 on 22 July 2025 and through a low of $0.0377 on 29 March 2026. Today it reads 56, Neutral, on an average of 44. That April spike, printed with the price down four fifths from its peak, is exactly the kind of detachment between emotion and price that the full crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index exists to catch: a crowd finding a day of mania inside a bounce, not a recovery.

Pnut Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Pnut Fear and Greed Index today?

The Pnut Fear and Greed Index today is 32/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Pnut market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Pnut Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Pnut fear and greed reading.

What is a good Pnut Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Pnut Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Pnut market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Pnut Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Pnut market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Pnut Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Pnut Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Pnut Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Pnut market conditions shift.

What does a low Pnut Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Pnut market.

What does a high Pnut Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Pnut market.

Can I get alerts when the Pnut Fear and Greed Index changes?
