What Is Npc?

In on the joke.

NPC, short for Non-Playable Coin, is the memecoin of the internet's grey-faced NPC character, the figure with no inner monologue that repeats whatever the consensus is saying. Launched on Ethereum in 2023 as a hybrid that can exist as both a token and an NFT, it turned a jab at herd behaviour into a tradable asset. That makes it a strange mirror for the CFGI Npc fear and greed index, which exists to measure exactly the thing the meme laughs at: what the herd is feeling, one score a day, 0 to 100.

The CFGI read: For a coin about mindless conformity, NPC's crowd has rarely managed true euphoria: its high of 86 out of 100, Extreme Greed, came on 22 July 2025, with the price at $0.0293. Everything since has been milder. Across 332 days the ledger reads 106 days of Fear, 176 of Neutral and 49 of Greed, with Extreme Fear barely registering, for an average of 46 out of 100.

Npc Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The manic phase came early and it was jagged. A 28-point jump on 24 June 2025 threw the score from 29 to 57, a 26-point collapse on 2 July 2025 took it from 60 to 34, and the crowd still found a nine-day stretch at Greed or better in the second half of July 2025, capped by that Extreme Greed print. The price topped out a little later, at $0.032 on 12 August 2025.

The long half of the story is decline. The price fell 46% across the window, from $0.011 to $0.006, bottoming at $0.0044 on 1 July 2026, and the deepest sentiment came just before, 26 out of 100 on 7 June 2026 with the price at $0.0047. That day the herd was at least in character: 85 of the 102 coins then tracked on the Fear and Greed Index closed in Fear or worse, 7 of them in Extreme Fear. The longest run of gloom lasted 18 days, from 17 January to 3 February 2026.

The window ends on 26 July 2026 at 45 out of 100, in Neutral, the zone where NPC has spent more days than any other. The consensus, for now, is not to have one.

Npc Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Npc Fear and Greed Index today?

The Npc Fear and Greed Index today is 31/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Npc market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Npc Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Npc fear and greed reading.

What is a good Npc Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Npc Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Npc market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Npc Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Npc market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Npc Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Npc Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Npc Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Npc market conditions shift.

What does a low Npc Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Npc market.

What does a high Npc Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Npc market.
