What Is Midnight?

Privacy's anxious debut.

Midnight is a privacy chain built as a partner network to Cardano, using zero-knowledge proofs for what its builders call rational privacy: selective disclosure, where users choose what data is revealed and to whom. Its NIGHT token reached holders through the Glacier Drop, an airdrop spread across eight different chains. Privacy takes time to prove, and the CFGI Midnight fear and greed index shows a crowd that has not yet extended much of it.

The CFGI read: The low is the headline. On 20 July 2026 Midnight's score touched 10 out of 100, deep in Extreme Fear, with the price at its $0.0185 window low, and it did so almost alone: just 2 of the coins we track closed in Extreme Fear that day, Midnight among them. The price had already done the persuading, falling 37.2% over the window from $0.0314 to $0.0197, and Greed barely registered, with the score topping out at 46 on 11 July.

Midnight Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

In its first 19 days on the index since 8 July 2026, Midnight logged 12 days in Fear, 1 in Extreme Fear and 6 in Neutral, an average of 33. The bleakest stretch ran five days in Fear or worse from 18 to 22 July, bracketing the plunge to 10, and what followed was pure whiplash, a 26 point surge on 23 July, 20 up to 46, answered by a 21 point drop on 24 July, 46 down to 25. This crowd does not change its mind gently.

It closes the window at 28, in Fear, feeding the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market each day. For a network whose product is disclosure on your own terms, the sentiment record is at least transparent: this crowd is worried, and it is not hiding it.

NIGHT Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index today?

The NIGHT Fear and Greed Index today is 40/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live NIGHT market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one NIGHT fear and greed reading.

What is a good NIGHT Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the NIGHT market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the NIGHT market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index updated?

The NIGHT Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as NIGHT market conditions shift.

What does a low NIGHT Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the NIGHT market.

What does a high NIGHT Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the NIGHT market.

Can I get alerts when the NIGHT Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track NIGHT sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific NIGHT Fear and Greed Index score changes.
