What Is Morpho?

DeFi's restless matchmaker.

Morpho is a decentralised lending network, born in Paris as a rate optimiser sitting on top of Aave and Compound and grown into open credit infrastructure in its own right, with permissionless markets and curated vaults that exchanges and institutions, Coinbase among them, plug directly into their own products. The MORPHO token governs that machinery. On the CFGI Morpho fear and greed index the crowd is therefore pricing something unusual, not a mascot or a story but the mood around DeFi's lending plumbing, and in its first three weeks that mood has swung harder than the credit books it watches.

The CFGI read: Morpho's crowd arrived greedy and thought better of it. The token opened its index life on 8 July 2026 with four straight days in Greed, peaking at 72 out of 100 on 10 July with the price at $2.19. The correction of feeling came fast, a 26 point plunge on 12 July, 62 down to 36, still the sharpest single move of its record. The floor, 35 out of 100 on 23 July at $1.95, had plenty of company, with 122 of the coins we track closing in Fear or worse that day.

Morpho Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

Nineteen days into its history since 8 July 2026, Morpho's ledger leans warmer than its recent mood suggests: 6 days in Greed, 9 in Neutral and 4 in Fear, with an average of 50 that sits exactly on the fence between the two halves of the scale. The price has travelled less than the emotion, easing 4.2% from $2.04 to $1.95, with its high of $2.25 printed on 9 July and its low of $1.92 on 22 July, one day before sentiment found its own floor.

The recovery muscle is already visible. On 16 July the score jumped 21 points, 42 up to 63, the crowd's biggest single-day climb so far, and after the late-July dip it closed the window back at 43, Neutral. Every one of those swings feeds the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market, where the mood around DeFi's lending rails is read daily alongside every other crowd we score.

MORPHO Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index today?

The MORPHO Fear and Greed Index today is 49/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live MORPHO market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one MORPHO fear and greed reading.

What is a good MORPHO Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the MORPHO market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the MORPHO market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index updated?

The MORPHO Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as MORPHO market conditions shift.

What does a low MORPHO Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the MORPHO market.

What does a high MORPHO Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the MORPHO market.

Can I get alerts when the MORPHO Fear and Greed Index changes?
