What Is Mew?

Nine lives, one direction.

Mew is the Solana memecoin that launched in March 2024 under the banner of a cat in a dogs world, a deliberate provocation in a meme market ruled by dog coins. Two years on, the joke has outlived the mania that spawned it, and the CFGI Mew fear and greed index has spent the past year recording what a meme crowd looks like when the party has moved on: not hysterical, just steadily, quietly resigned.

The CFGI read: Mew's crowd carries the 28th most fearful average of the tokens we rank, 43 out of 100, and it earned that ranking honestly: the price fell 85.5% across the 332 days to 26 July 2026, from $0.0024 to $0.00035. Yet the despair almost never tipped over the edge. Just 2 days closed in Extreme Fear all year, the deepest of them 12 October 2025, when the score hit its floor of 18 with the price at $0.0021, one day after the broadest crash in our crypto records and with 86 of the 96 tokens we then scored still in Fear or worse.

Mew Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

Everything that looks like joy in Mew's record is concentrated in its first weeks on our books. The peak, 78 out of 100 on 19 July 2025 at $0.0036, sat inside an eight-day run of Greed or better between 16 and 27 July 2025, and the price high of $0.0041 landed on 21 July 2025, right in the middle of it. The record's sharpest moves in both directions belong to that same month: a 30-point collapse from 61 to 31 on 2 July, and a 26-point leap from 45 to 71 on 10 July.

The long middle was heavier. From 12 to 25 November 2025 the crowd logged a 14-day run in Fear or worse, its longest of the year, and the full ledger settles at 124 days of Fear against 26 of Greed, with 180 in Neutral. The price ground down to $0.00033 by 25 June 2026 and closed the window at $0.00035, a whisker above that floor.

On 26 July 2026 the crowd reads 35, in Fear, eight points below its own yearly average of 43, while the wider Fear and Greed Index closed at 51, in Neutral. The cat is still in a dogs world, and its crowd knows it.

Mew Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Mew Fear and Greed Index today?

The Mew Fear and Greed Index today is 39/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Mew market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Mew Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Mew fear and greed reading.

What is a good Mew Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Mew Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Mew market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Mew Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Mew market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Mew Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Mew Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Mew Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Mew market conditions shift.

What does a low Mew Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Mew market.

What does a high Mew Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Mew market.

Can I get alerts when the Mew Fear and Greed Index changes?
