What Is Joe?

Both edges of the blade.

Joe began life as Trader Joe, the flagship decentralised exchange on Avalanche, and now trades under the rebranded LFJ banner, its Liquidity Book market-making design spread across several chains. The JOE token still sits at the centre of the exchange's economics. We have scored it since 2 January 2025, and across the 332 days in its current window its crowd has touched both ends of the scale, Extreme Fear and Extreme Greed alike.

The CFGI read: JOE's year peaked at 82 out of 100, Extreme Greed, on 18 September 2025, the exact day its price topped at $0.2109. Three days later the score crashed 32 points, from 73 to 41, the token's biggest single-day fall, and a week after that it swung 29 points back up, from 32 to 61 on 28 September. The bottom of the scale followed within a month: 18, Extreme Fear, on 12 October 2025 at $0.1227, a day when 86 of 96 tokens sat in Fear or worse.

Joe Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

For all that theatre, the base state is gloom. JOE logged 161 days of Fear plus one of Extreme Fear against 144 of Neutral, 24 of Greed and 2 of Extreme Greed, an average of 42 that makes its crowd the 13th most fearful of the tokens we rank across our crypto markets. The longest dark stretch ran 25 days, from 19 January to 12 February 2026.

The mood had its reasons. The price fell 79.3% across the window, from $0.135 to $0.0279, hitting its low of $0.0268 on 19 July 2026, the same day 135 of the 300 tokens on the Fear and Greed Index closed in Fear or worse, the market's broadest fear day of the year. Yet the window closes at 53, Neutral, the crowd back above its own average. An exchange community has seen enough cycles to know the mood, like the order book, eventually refills.

Joe Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Joe Fear and Greed Index today?

The Joe Fear and Greed Index today is 31/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Joe market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Joe Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Joe fear and greed reading.

What is a good Joe Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Joe Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Joe market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Joe Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Joe market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Joe Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Joe Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Joe Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Joe market conditions shift.

What does a low Joe Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Joe market.

What does a high Joe Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Joe market.

Can I get alerts when the Joe Fear and Greed Index changes?
