What Is GMT?
The walk turned trudge.
GMT is the governance token of STEPN, the move-to-earn app from Find Satoshi Lab that paid users in crypto for walking and running, and briefly made sneaker NFTs a global phenomenon in 2022. The app's premise was that motion has value. On the CFGI index, where GMT began scoring on 10 July 2026, the crowd's motion has so far run one way.
The CFGI read: GMT's first reading, 49 out of 100 on 10 July 2026, is still its best. Seventeen days later nothing has matched it. The crowd spent 13 of those days in Fear against 4 in Neutral, carries an average of 36, and needed until 26 July 2026 to climb back to 45, still four points under day one. This is a crowd that starts each rally already tired.
GMT Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The slide started immediately: a 16-point drop from 49 to 33 on 11 July 2026, GMT's second day on the index and still its sharpest fall. The price eased 6.8% across the window, from $0.0077 to $0.0072, with the high of $0.0077 on 15 July 2026 and the low of $0.0070 on 23 July 2026.
The bottom of the window was crowded, at least. GMT's low of 29 on 23 July 2026 landed on a day when 122 of the 300 assets on the main Fear and Greed Index sat in Fear or worse, in the middle of GMT's 7-day Fear-or-worse run from 19 to 25 July 2026. The best push against the tide, a 12-point rise from 32 to 44 on 18 July 2026, was handed straight back.
Seventeen days is a short walk, and the token has a far longer history than our score does; this crowd was minted in a mania and has lived through the whole cycle since. The window closes at 45, Neutral, the first day out of Fear in over a week. One step is not a stride, but it is at least in the other direction.

GMT Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the GMT Fear and Greed Index today?
The GMT Fear and Greed Index today is 38/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live GMT market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the GMT Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one GMT fear and greed reading.
What is a good GMT Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the GMT Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the GMT market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the GMT Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the GMT market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the GMT Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the GMT Fear and Greed Index updated?
The GMT Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as GMT market conditions shift.
What does a low GMT Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the GMT market.
What does a high GMT Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the GMT market.
