What Is ConocoPhillips?
The oil patch stoic.
ConocoPhillips is one of the largest independent oil and gas producers in the United States, a pure upstream operator that drills, pumps and sells hydrocarbons without owning a single petrol station. Formed by the 2002 merger of Conoco and Phillips Petroleum, it lives and dies by the commodity cycle, from Permian shale to Alaskan crude to liquefied natural gas. On the CFGI ConocoPhillips fear and greed index that exposure produces a crowd that swings hard with the oil price yet refuses to lose its head.
The CFGI read: Across 273 scored sessions between June 2025 and July 2026, ConocoPhillips rarely closed a day in Extreme Fear, and its average score of 50 out of 100 sits dead on the line between fear and greed. The floor was 20 out of 100 on 8 May 2026 at $113.87, a Fear reading printed while 91 of the 245 stocks scored that day were in Fear or worse, so even the crowd's worst moment was partly the market's.
ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
What the crowd lacks in panic it makes up in speed. On 8 April 2026 the score dropped 28 points in a session, from 66 to 38, and on 9 July 2026 it jumped 30, from 32 to 62, the sharpest moves of the window in either direction. The longest gloom ran 15 sessions in Fear or worse from 15 June to 7 July 2026, a stretch the crowd exited almost at a sprint.
Greed is the more familiar setting. ConocoPhillips logged 89 days in Greed against 71 in Fear, touched Extreme Greed only briefly, at 80 out of 100 on 3 March 2026 at $118.52, and closed the window at 67 with the price up 31%, from $91.71 to $120.13. The move ran from a low of $85.66 on 6 November 2025 to $133.80 on 27 March 2026, and through all of it this stayed one of the calmer energy panels on the full Fear and Greed Index, ranked 198th of the stocks we track by Extreme Fear days because that zone is one it barely uses.

ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index today?
The ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index today is 72/100 on the daily view, showing Greed. It summarizes live ConocoPhillips market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one ConocoPhillips fear and greed reading.
What is a good ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the ConocoPhillips market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the ConocoPhillips market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index updated?
The ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as ConocoPhillips market conditions shift.
What does a low ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the ConocoPhillips market.
What does a high ConocoPhillips Fear and Greed score mean?
