Vistra Market Sentiment Today

Vistra market sentiment today is shaped by price action, volatility, trading volume, technical indicators, social activity and wider market behaviour. CFGI combines these signals to show how Vistra sentiment is changing throughout the day.

Compare Vistra with the whole-market reading on the Stock Market Fear and Greed Index, or every company on the stock fear and greed directory.

What Is Vistra?

Rarely extreme, always moving.

Vistra is an independent power producer. It owns the generation, from gas plants and a fleet of nuclear reactors through to solar and battery storage, and it also sells electricity directly to millions of retail customers, which gives it a natural hedge most utilities lack. That combination made it one of the defining trades of the AI power story, because data centres need firm, always-on electricity and nuclear is the cleanest way to supply it. Stocks carrying a narrative that heavy usually carry a jumpy crowd. Vistra's does the opposite.

The CFGI read: Across 273 scored days from 23 June 2025 to 24 July 2026, Vistra has been slow to reach either extreme, closing in Extreme Fear and Extreme Greed only very rarely. Most of its year fits between 23 out of 100 on 4 February 2026, with the shares at $142.52, and 77 out of 100 on 12 September 2025 at $209.70. For a stock at the centre of the loudest energy narrative in the market, that is a remarkably narrow emotional band.

Vistra Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The restraint is not indifference. On 4 February 2026, the day of that floor, 25 of 246 stocks were in Extreme Fear and 84 were in Fear or worse. Other names were in genuine panic. Vistra sat in ordinary Fear and stayed there. We rank it 243rd of the stocks we track by Extreme Fear days, essentially the bottom of the table.

The price was far less composed than the mood. From $186.55 at the start of the window the shares reached $217.92 on 22 September 2025, then fell all the way to $134.71 on 19 May 2026, the closing day of a nine-day run of Fear or worse, before finishing the window at $162.97, down 12.6%. A drawdown of that size normally drags a crowd into Extreme Fear. This one barely got past plain Fear.

The sharp moves are there when you look for them: a 32-point drop on 20 March 2026, from 61 to 29, on the most fearful day the stock board recorded all year, and a 31-point jump on 24 October 2025, from 34 to 65. But 120 of the 273 days closed Neutral and the average is 49 out of 100, a shade under the midline. Today the reading is 61, Greed, and Vistra remains one of the steadiest tempers on the overall market Fear and Greed Index, which is not what the headlines it generates would lead you to expect.

Vistra Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Vistra Fear and Greed Index today?

The Vistra Fear and Greed Index today is 35/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Vistra market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Vistra Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Vistra fear and greed reading.

What is a good Vistra Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Vistra Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Vistra market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Vistra Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Vistra market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Vistra Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Vistra Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Vistra Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Vistra market conditions shift.

What does a low Vistra Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Vistra market.

What does a high Vistra Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Vistra market.

Can I get alerts when the Vistra Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track Vistra sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific Vistra Fear and Greed Index score changes.
