What Is Uber?
Short on euphoria.
Uber turned a phone app into the world's largest ride-hailing and delivery network, and after years of famously burning cash it now runs at a profit while partnering with the autonomous-driving companies that could one day replace its drivers. A platform that works, attached to a future that is contested. The CFGI Uber fear and greed index shows a crowd that cannot quite get excited about either.
The CFGI read: In 273 scored days Uber has barely touched Extreme Greed, its year high of 81 out of 100 landing on 26 June 2025 at $93.12. Nothing since has come close. It spent 136 days in Neutral, half the window, 77 in Fear and only 56 in Greed, and it ends 24 July 2026 at 21, in Fear, at $65.97, the lowest price of the year.
Uber Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The decline is the spine of the record. From $85.24 at the start of the window the shares reached $100.10 on 6 October 2025 and then fell all the way to $65.97 by 24 July 2026, off 22.6%. The sentiment floor came early in that slide rather than at the end of it: 18 out of 100 on 21 November 2025 at $83.87, inside a three-day Extreme Fear run from 20 to 24 November, on a day when 98 of 247 stocks were also in Fear or worse.
The combination that defines this crowd is few panics and constant unease. Only 3 days of Extreme Fear in the whole window, ranking Uber 126th of the stocks we track for panic days, yet an average reading of 47 that ranks it 61st most fearful of the same board. Between them sit an 11-day run of Fear or worse from 3 to 18 February 2026, a 24-point drop on 4 November 2025 from 69 to 45, and one honest rally, 27 points on 15 June 2026 from 34 to 61, that did not hold.
A year that opened with its high-water mark for greed and closed at its lowest price is a clean piece of evidence for what the whole-market Fear and Greed Index measures: not what a business is doing, but how much patience the people holding it have left.

Uber Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the Uber Fear and Greed Index today?
The Uber Fear and Greed Index today is 45/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Uber market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the Uber Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Uber fear and greed reading.
What is a good Uber Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the Uber Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Uber market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the Uber Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the Uber market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the Uber Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the Uber Fear and Greed Index updated?
The Uber Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Uber market conditions shift.
What does a low Uber Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Uber market.
What does a high Uber Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Uber market.
Can I get alerts when the Uber Fear and Greed Index changes?
Yes. CFGI alerts let you track Uber sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific Uber Fear and Greed Index score changes.
