Shell plc Market Sentiment Today

Shell plc market sentiment today is shaped by price action, volatility, trading volume, technical indicators, social activity and wider market behaviour. CFGI combines these signals to show how Shell plc sentiment is changing throughout the day.

Compare Shell plc with the whole-market reading on the Stock Market Fear and Greed Index, or every company on the stock fear and greed directory.

What Is Shell plc?

Greed, and little else.

Shell is one of the western supermajors, a British headquartered oil and gas group whose business runs from deepwater production through one of the world's largest liquefied natural gas trading operations to refineries and forecourts. The integrated model is deliberate: when crude is weak the trading and refining arms often carry the result, which is why the shares tend to behave less erratically than the barrel price they are attached to. Shell began scoring on the CFGI stock board on 10 July 2026, and its first 11 sessions have produced something we rarely see on a new listing.

The CFGI read: Shell has spent almost its whole short record in Greed. Neutral, Fear and Extreme Greed have barely featured. The entire range runs from 67 out of 100 on 10 July 2026, its first day on the index, to 78 out of 100 on 17 July, and the largest single session move in either direction is a 5 point slip on 20 July, from 78 to 73. An 11 point band across a fortnight is about as still as this index gets.

Shell plc Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The price backed the mood without hurrying. Shell rose 7.5% across the fortnight, from $82.15 on its first scored day to $88.34 on 24 July 2026, and both of those are the extremes of the window: the low on day one, the high on the last day. Sentiment and price climbed in step, which is only unusual because neither did anything abrupt on the way. Its biggest jump was 7 points on 17 July, from 71 to 78.

The average so far is 72 out of 100 and Greed has dominated from the start, 11 consecutive sessions in Greed or better from 10 July to 24 July 2026. Some of that is timing. Shell's weakest reading, 67 on 10 July 2026, landed on a day when only 60 assets across our board were in Fear or worse and just 1 was in Extreme Fear, one of the calmer sessions of the month, so this crowd has not yet been asked a hard question, and a run of Greed built on a quiet fortnight tells us less about Shell than a single rough week would. For the kind of full range this index can show over time, the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market is the better comparison.

Shell plc Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Shell plc Fear and Greed Index today?

The Shell plc Fear and Greed Index today is 82/100 on the daily view, showing Extreme Greed. It summarizes live Shell plc market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Shell plc Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Shell plc fear and greed reading.

What is a good Shell plc Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Shell plc Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Shell plc market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Shell plc Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Shell plc market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Shell plc Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Shell plc Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Shell plc Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Shell plc market conditions shift.

What does a low Shell plc Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Shell plc market.

What does a high Shell plc Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Shell plc market.
