What Is PepsiCo?
The snack-aisle contrarian.
PepsiCo is the snacks and beverages colossus behind Pepsi, Lay's, Doritos, Gatorade and Quaker, the kind of business textbooks file under defensive. Its crowd did not read the textbook. On the CFGI PepsiCo fear and greed index this is the stock that turned greedy on the stock market's most frightened day of the year, then spent 100 days of its own year in Fear anyway.
The CFGI read: On 5 February 2026, the worst Extreme Fear breadth day we have recorded for stocks, with 34 of 246 names in the zone at once, PepsiCo printed 87 out of 100, Extreme Greed, its highest reading of the entire window, at $167.53. It held Extreme Greed for four straight days from 3 to 6 February while the market shook, and the price obliged with its high of $170.49 on 6 February. Six weeks later the poles reversed: its only Extreme Fear day, 19 out of 100, came on 20 March 2026 at $150.04, when 169 of 245 stocks sat in Fear or worse. Greedy alone, fearful in company.
PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
Between those poles the crowd leaned gloomy. Across 273 scored days from 23 June 2025 it logged 100 days in Fear against 76 in Greed, averaged 48, and produced its nastiest session late: a 43-point collapse on 9 July 2026, from 73 to 30, the largest one-day mood break of its year. A 10-day stretch in Fear or worse from 26 May to 8 June 2026 confirmed that the crowd which ignored February's panic is perfectly capable of manufacturing its own.
The tape never quite justified the mood. The stock ground out a 6% gain across the window, from $129.09 to $136.87, having bottomed at $128.02 on 25 June 2025, and the reading now sits at 47, Neutral, within a point of its own average. On the combined crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index that would pass for a crowd at rest. PepsiCo's record suggests its rest states are short leases.

PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index today?
The PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index today is 44/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live PepsiCo market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one PepsiCo fear and greed reading.
What is a good PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the PepsiCo market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the PepsiCo market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index updated?
The PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as PepsiCo market conditions shift.
What does a low PepsiCo Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the PepsiCo market.
What does a high PepsiCo Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the PepsiCo market.
Can I get alerts when the PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index changes?
Yes. CFGI alerts let you track PepsiCo sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific PepsiCo Fear and Greed Index score changes.
