What Is Palantir?

Conviction, with whiplash.

Palantir is the data analytics and AI software company selling its platforms to defence agencies, governments and a growing corporate list, and it doubles as one of the market's great conviction stocks, carried by a retail crowd that treats ownership as allegiance. On the CFGI Palantir fear and greed index the allegiance shows up as amplitude. This crowd closed days everywhere from 18 out of 100 to 87, and it travelled between those poles at speed.

The CFGI read: The summer of 2025 was the faith at full volume, 29 consecutive days of Greed or better from 7 July to 14 August, including a five-day run of Extreme Greed that peaked at 87 out of 100 on 6 August at $179.54. The unwind was just as loud. On 13 November 2025 the reading collapsed 40 points in a single session, from 66 to 26, the crowd's worst day of the year, opening an eight-day stretch in Fear or worse while the price came off its $207.18 high of 3 November.

Palantir Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The deeper lows came in 2026. The floor, 18 out of 100, Extreme Fear, printed on 30 January at $146.59, with 69 of the stocks we track in Fear or worse around it. Then in June the crowd and the tape bottomed together: two straight Extreme Fear closes on 24 and 25 June 2026, the second landing on the exact day the price touched its window low of $107.27, nearly half off the November peak. Sentiment did not anticipate that bottom. It arrived with it.

For the window as a whole the stock fell 11.8%, from $139.92 to $123.40, yet the crowd still banked 98 days of Greed and 9 of Extreme Greed against 74 of Fear, and its average of 52 sits above the 46 averaged by the main Fear and Greed Index over its own window. The reading enters the current quarter at 29, Fear. If the record shows one thing, it is that this crowd does not stay anywhere for long.

Palantir Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Palantir Fear and Greed Index today?

The Palantir Fear and Greed Index today is 37/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Palantir market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Palantir Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Palantir fear and greed reading.

What is a good Palantir Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Palantir Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Palantir market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Palantir Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Palantir market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Palantir Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Palantir Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Palantir Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Palantir market conditions shift.

What does a low Palantir Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Palantir market.

What does a high Palantir Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Palantir market.

Can I get alerts when the Palantir Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track Palantir sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific Palantir Fear and Greed Index score changes.
