What Is Netflix?
The cliffhanger crowd.
Netflix invented streaming as a mass habit, a 1997 DVD-by-mail startup that became the default television of much of the planet and the company every rival service is still measured against. On the CFGI Netflix fear and greed index, its crowd carries none of that swagger. This is one of the most anxious audiences we track, and its year read like one of the platform's own bleaker box sets.
The CFGI read: The window opened at the exact top. Five straight days of Extreme Greed from 24 to 30 June 2025 carried the score to its 87 peak on 30 June, the same day the price peaked at $133.91. Everything after was descent. The price fell 44% to $70.20 by the window's end, touching $67.79 on 20 July 2026, and the crowd endured 36 consecutive sessions in Fear or worse from 3 December 2025 to 26 January 2026, the longest gloom in its ledger.
Netflix Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
By the numbers this is a certified worrier: 142 of its 273 scored days at Fear or worse, including 10 of Extreme Fear, against 57 in Greed or better, and an average of 43 out of 100 that makes it the 12th most fearful crowd among the stocks we score. The deepest cut came late: four consecutive days of Extreme Fear from 22 to 25 June 2026, bottoming at 15 out of 100 on 24 June with the price at $71.84, a capitulation that was mostly private, with just 6 of the 246 stocks we scored that day in Extreme Fear.
Even the good spells ended on cliffhangers. A 12-session run in Greed or better from 31 March to 16 April 2026 was cancelled the very next episode, a 50-point plunge from 82 to 32 on 17 April 2026, the hardest single-day fall in the window. The sharpest lift, 27 points from 38 to 65 on 17 September 2025, showed the same taste for sudden plot. The window closed at 46, Neutral, on 24 July 2026, a dramatic crowd catching its breath somewhere in the middle of the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market.

Netflix Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the Netflix Fear and Greed Index today?
The Netflix Fear and Greed Index today is 46/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Netflix market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the Netflix Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Netflix fear and greed reading.
What is a good Netflix Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the Netflix Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Netflix market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the Netflix Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the Netflix market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the Netflix Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the Netflix Fear and Greed Index updated?
The Netflix Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Netflix market conditions shift.
What does a low Netflix Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Netflix market.
What does a high Netflix Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Netflix market.
Can I get alerts when the Netflix Fear and Greed Index changes?
Yes. CFGI alerts let you track Netflix sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific Netflix Fear and Greed Index score changes.
