What Is Lowe's?
The rate-sensitive renovator.
Lowe's is one of the largest home improvement retailers in the world, a North Carolina company that began as a small-town hardware store in 1921 and now sells lumber, appliances and paint to homeowners and professional builders across America. Its fortunes ride the housing cycle, mortgage rates and the national appetite for renovation, and its crowd carries that dependence visibly. On the CFGI Lowe's fear and greed index the mood splits almost evenly, 103 days in Fear or worse against 73 in Greed or better across 273 days, on an average of 47 out of 100: a crowd that never fully trusts the market it serves.
The CFGI read: When the stock roster broke, Lowe's broke with it, only harder. Its deepest reading, 15 out of 100 on 20 March 2026 at $224.63, printed on the broadest fear day our stock coverage recorded all window, with 169 of 245 stocks in Fear or worse and 19 in Extreme Fear. That low landed inside a 19-session run of Fear or worse from 25 February to 23 March, the crowd's longest, and Lowe's ranks 48th of the stocks we track for days spent in Extreme Fear. This is a crowd that moves with the herd and feels it more.
Lowe's Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
The optimism came in January. A three-session stay in Extreme Greed from 12 to 14 January 2026 carried the score to its peak of 83 on 13 January at $274.25, and the price went on to top out at $287.39 on 13 February. Then came the spring unwind, the March low, and a 27-point jump from 34 to 61 on 8 April as the mood repaired itself in a single session. Swings like that are why Lowe's matters inside the full crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index: it concentrates the market's housing nerves into one ticker.
July 2026 restated the temperament. On 9 July the score collapsed 31 points, from 60 to 29, the sharpest single-day drop of the window, and the price ground down to $201.29 on 23 July, its lowest of the period. Yet by 24 July the crowd had already rebuilt to 52, Neutral, while the shares still sat near the bottom, closing the window at $206.92, down 5.3% from $218.57. Across our stock roster that is a familiar Lowe's pattern: sentiment recovers first and asks the price to follow.

Lowe's Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the Lowe's Fear and Greed Index today?
The Lowe's Fear and Greed Index today is 36/100 on the daily view, showing Fear. It summarizes live Lowe's market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the Lowe's Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Lowe's fear and greed reading.
What is a good Lowe's Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the Lowe's Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Lowe's market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the Lowe's Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the Lowe's market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the Lowe's Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the Lowe's Fear and Greed Index updated?
The Lowe's Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Lowe's market conditions shift.
What does a low Lowe's Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Lowe's market.
What does a high Lowe's Fear and Greed score mean?
A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Lowe's market.
