What Is IQVIA?

The trial-runner's pulse.

IQVIA is the company pharma calls when it needs a drug tested and the data understood, born in 2016 from the merger of Quintiles, the world's largest clinical trials organisation, and IMS Health, the keeper of the industry's prescription data. It runs studies in dozens of countries and sells the analytics layer over global medicine, a business of protocols and patience. Its CFGI crowd behaves accordingly.

The CFGI read: IQVIA spent 135 of its 273 scored days in Neutral and averaged 51 out of 100, a crowd that resists both extremes, ranking a placid 137th of the stocks we track by fearfulness of average. When it finally broke, it broke with everyone else: the floor of 10 out of 100 printed on 5 February 2026 at $180.96, the single worst day of collective stock fear we have recorded, with 34 of 246 stocks in Extreme Fear and 103 in Fear or worse.

IQVIA Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

That February episode was compact: five sessions of Extreme Fear from 3 to 9 February, inside an 18-session run in Fear or worse from 30 January to 25 February 2026, and then it was over. The rest of the record leans warm. Four consecutive days of Extreme Greed from 22 to 25 July 2025 peaked at 83 out of 100 on 24 July at $200.82, and a 10-session run in Greed or better from 24 June to 9 July 2026 was opened by the sharpest jump of the window, 32 points from 37 to 69 on 24 June.

The composure was earned. The price climbed 34.7% across the window, from $155.17 on the first scored day to $209.08 at the close, touching $244.29 on 7 January 2026 along the way, and the score ended at 62, back in Greed. On the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market, IQVIA is what a defensive healthcare crowd looks like when the business underneath keeps its appointments: unbothered by noise, and frightened only on the day fear went universal.

IQVIA Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index today?

The IQVIA Fear and Greed Index today is 70/100 on the daily view, showing Greed. It summarizes live IQVIA market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one IQVIA fear and greed reading.

What is a good IQVIA Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the IQVIA market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the IQVIA market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index updated?

The IQVIA Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as IQVIA market conditions shift.

What does a low IQVIA Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the IQVIA market.

What does a high IQVIA Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the IQVIA market.

Can I get alerts when the IQVIA Fear and Greed Index changes?

Yes. CFGI alerts let you track IQVIA sentiment across daily, 4-hour, 1-hour and 15-minute timeframes. Create alerts for fear, greed, extreme readings or specific IQVIA Fear and Greed Index score changes.

Yes. The CFGI widget lets you embed a live IQVIA Fear and Greed Index on your website, so visitors can see current IQVIA sentiment, live scores and market conditions without you building the data system yourself.
