IBM is older than the computer industry it helped create, a company founded in 1911 that has survived every technology cycle since by becoming something else: tabulating machines, mainframes, services, and now hybrid cloud through Red Hat, quantum hardware and its watsonx AI stack. Barely six weeks later the same crowd sat at 15, Extreme Fear, on 15 July, in the middle of a four session run of the zone from 14 July to 17 July, and it was almost alone there: just 3 of the 300 assets scored that day were in Extreme Fear. The market did not do this to IBM. The crowd repriced IBM itself.

Yet the full ledger is more balanced than the ending: 87 days in Greed and 16 in Extreme Greed against 76 in Fear and 8 in Extreme Fear, with a 17 session run in Greed or better from 17 September to 9 October 2025 and an average of 51. The panel closes at 43, Neutral on the Fear and Greed Index, a company once again asked to prove it can become something else.
