What Is Crown Castle?
The fading signal.
Crown Castle is the American tower REIT, owner of tens of thousands of cell towers leased to the big US carriers, and since completing the sale of its fibre and small cell businesses in May 2026 it is a pure-play tower company for the first time in years. That reinvention has played out in front of one of the more frightened crowds on our board, and the year's price chart explains why.
The CFGI read: Crown Castle's single day of Extreme Greed, 80 out of 100 on 24 July 2025 with the shares at $113.91, was also the exact day the price peaked. Everything since has been descent: the stock ended the window at $74.88, down 27%, with the low of $74.38 printed on 23 July 2026, one day before the window closed. The crowd's happiest moment marked the top, a pattern this index exists to put on record.
Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index History
Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.
Across 273 trading days from 23 June 2025 to 24 July 2026 the crowd averaged 45, and only twenty of the stocks we rank carry a more fearful mean. The ledger: 3 days of Extreme Fear, 96 of Fear, 131 of Neutral, 42 of Greed and that lone day of Extreme Greed. The deepest reading, 18 out of 100, came on 25 March 2026 at $76.96, the second of back-to-back Extreme Fear closes, on a day when just 77 of the 245 stocks we then tracked were in Fear or worse. That was Crown Castle's own weather, not the market's.
Early summer brought the grind, fifteen consecutive closes in Fear or worse from 15 June to 7 July 2026, and the window ends with sentiment at 29, Fear, against a price sitting half a dollar off its low. Hope has flickered before, most sharply a 32-point jump on 10 February 2026 from 27 to 59, but the reading on the combined crypto and stock Fear and Greed Index is a crowd still waiting for evidence that the pure-play era changes the story.

Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index FAQ
What is the Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index today?
The Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index today is 47/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Crown Castle market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.
How is the Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index calculated?
CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Crown Castle fear and greed reading.
What is a good Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index reading?
There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.
How accurate is the Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index?
It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Crown Castle market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.
What does the Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index measure?
It measures the emotional state of the Crown Castle market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.
How do I use the Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index?
Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.
How often is the Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index updated?
The Crown Castle Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Crown Castle market conditions shift.
What does a low Crown Castle Fear and Greed score mean?
A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Crown Castle market.
