What Is Cheniere Energy?

Gas on the water.

Cheniere Energy is one of the largest producer of liquefied natural gases in the United States, the company that sent the first LNG cargo out of the lower 48 states from its Sabine Pass terminal in 2016 and turned American shale gas into a seaborne export business. Its earnings ride long-term contracts, but the crowd on the CFGI Cheniere Energy fear and greed index rides the global gas mood, and that mood turns quickly.

The CFGI read: In the spring of 2026 this crowd travelled from ceiling to floor in under seven weeks. The score peaked at 85 out of 100 on 23 March at $287.20, during a four-session stay in Extreme Greed, with the price topping at $296.91 four days later, sentiment first, price second. By 8 May it had collapsed to 17 out of 100 at $240.11, its low of the window, on a day when 91 of 245 stocks were in Fear or worse but only 5 in Extreme Fear.

Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The other bruise was seasonal. A 15-session stretch in Fear or worse from 5 to 26 December 2025, including two days of Extreme Fear on 11 and 12 December, ran straight through the price low of $188.83 on 15 December. The crowd's biggest single-day repair had come much earlier, 28 points from 29 to 57 on 18 July 2025.

For all the swings, the ledger settles out cautious: 94 days in Fear or worse against 75 in Greed or better across 273 sessions, an average of 47 out of 100, and a sharpest daily drop of just 26 points, from 74 to 48 on 31 March 2026, right after the price peak. The window closed at 63, in Greed, with the price up 15.7% from $232.53 to $269.01, a cargo of confidence currently outbound on the main Fear and Greed Index.

Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index today?

The Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index today is 64/100 on the daily view, showing Greed. It summarizes live Cheniere Energy market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Cheniere Energy fear and greed reading.

What is a good Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Cheniere Energy market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Cheniere Energy market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Cheniere Energy market conditions shift.

What does a low Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Cheniere Energy market.

What does a high Cheniere Energy Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Cheniere Energy market.
