What Is Air Products and Chemicals?

Slow gas, sharp turns.

Air Products and Chemicals has been separating air into money since 1940, an Allentown, Pennsylvania company whose oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen flow to steel mills, hospitals and refineries on contracts measured in decades. The business is slow by design, but the window caught the company mid-argument, just after an activist campaign swept its boardroom in early 2025 and reined in its most ambitious clean hydrogen bets. The CFGI Air Products fear and greed index spent thirteen months pricing the aftermath.

The CFGI read: The defining stretch was a grind, not a crash. From 1 October to 5 November 2025 Air Products logged 26 consecutive sessions in Fear or worse, and the day after the run ended, 6 November, the score exploded 41 points from 24 to 65, the biggest single-day jump of its window. Crowds that have been ground down for a month do not thaw, they snap. The fright underneath had been private: the floor of 15 out of 100 printed on 25 September 2025 at $265.78, during a three-session Extreme Fear visit, with only 4 of 247 stocks in the deepest zone that day.

Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The mood bottomed long before the price did. The score's low came on 25 September 2025; the stock's, $230.76, not until 9 December 2025, by which point the crowd had already been through its November snap and moved on. That gap, sentiment leading price by more than two months, is the pattern the market-wide Fear and Greed Index is built to surface, and industrial crowds with long contracts and long memories show it most clearly.

The other extreme was just as sharp and even briefer. The price peaked at $314.19 on 2 July 2026, the score reached 82, Extreme Greed, on 7 July at $308.86, its only visit of the window, and two sessions later, on 9 July, it collapsed 45 points from 82 to 37. Air Products closed at 49, Neutral, on 24 July 2026, up 8.8% across the window at $297.35, with an average of 47 out of 100: a crowd that spends most of the year braced, and does its feeling in violent, single-session bursts.

Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index today?

The Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index today is 50/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Air Products and Chemicals market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Air Products and Chemicals fear and greed reading.

What is a good Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Air Products and Chemicals market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Air Products and Chemicals market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Air Products and Chemicals market conditions shift.

What does a low Air Products and Chemicals Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Air Products and Chemicals market.
