What Is Ripple?

The courtroom survivor.

XRP is the native token of the XRP Ledger, a settlement network Ripple has been building since 2012 to move money across borders in seconds rather than days. Its crowd is unlike most in crypto: a holder base forged by years of legal headlines, delistings and relistings, and a lawsuit with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that ran on for years before finally closing in 2025. People who held through all of that do not startle easily.

The sentiment record bears it out. Across the past year on the CFGI XRP fear and greed index, the crowd closed just 3 days in Extreme Fear and spent 223 days, 61% of the year, in Neutral, even as the price was cut by nearly two thirds.

The CFGI read: XRP's capitulation day was everyone's capitulation day. Its deepest reading of the year, 15 out of 100 on 5 February 2026 with the price at $1.23, landed when 98 of the 102 assets scored that day sat in Fear or worse and 10 were in Extreme Fear. Exactly one month earlier, on 5 January 2026, the crowd had printed its high of 79, Greed, at $2.36. From peak optimism to the floor in a single month: this crowd does not drift, it snaps.

Ripple Fear and Greed Index History

Q3 2026 breakdown. The table below updates daily.

The price story was brutal: from $3.21 at the start of the window to $1.10 a year later, a 65.6% decline, with the high of $3.31 printed early on 8 August 2025 and the low of $1.04 not reached until 30 June 2026. The sentiment story is one of containment. XRP logged only 3 Extreme Fear days all year, yet in a market where true panic was rare even that was enough to rank 25th of the tokens we track by time spent in the zone. Its longest gloom was a 12-day run in Fear or worse from 1 June to 12 June 2026.

The sharpest single move of the year came on 13 October 2025, a 29-point leap from 27 to 56, two days after XRP's lone Extreme Fear print of 11 October 2025, the day 17 of the 96 cryptos scored closed in Extreme Fear, the market's broadest panic of the year. The steepest fall, 24 points from 63 to 39, had come on 25 August 2025. Today the crowd reads 42, Neutral, a shade under its year average of 45, one hardened voice inside the live Fear and Greed Index for the whole market.

Ripple Fear and Greed Index FAQ

What is the Ripple Fear and Greed Index today?

The Ripple Fear and Greed Index today is 49/100 on the daily view, showing Neutral. It summarizes live Ripple market sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale.

How is the Ripple Fear and Greed Index calculated?

CFGI combines price action, impulse, volatility, volume, technicals, social sentiment, dominance, search interest, whale activity and order book pressure into one Ripple fear and greed reading.

What is a good Ripple Fear and Greed Index reading?

There is no single good reading, because the index measures mood rather than value. Extreme Fear below 25 marks the points where sentiment is most washed out, and Extreme Greed above 75 the points carrying the most risk, so what counts as good depends on whether you are buying or selling.

How accurate is the Ripple Fear and Greed Index?

It reads sentiment accurately and predicts price poorly, and those are two different things. The score reflects what the Ripple market feels right now across ten live inputs, so treat it as a risk gauge rather than a forecast: it tells you how one-sided the crowd has become, not what happens next.

What does the Ripple Fear and Greed Index measure?

It measures the emotional state of the Ripple market on a 0 to 100 scale, from extreme fear at 0 to extreme greed at 100. CFGI builds that number from ten indicators including price action, volatility, volume, momentum, technicals and social sentiment, rather than from price alone.

How do I use the Ripple Fear and Greed Index?

Most people use it to size risk rather than to time entries. The extreme readings are the useful ones: they flag when the crowd has become one-sided, which is when caution costs least and greed costs most. Read it alongside price and volume, never on its own.

How often is the Ripple Fear and Greed Index updated?

The Ripple Fear and Greed Index is updated every 15 minutes, so the live reading can change as Ripple market conditions shift.

What does a low Ripple Fear and Greed score mean?

A low score (0 to 39) signals fear or extreme fear, where traders are cautious, risk-averse or pessimistic about the Ripple market.

What does a high Ripple Fear and Greed score mean?

A high score (60 to 100) signals greed or extreme greed, where confidence, risk appetite and bullish sentiment dominate the Ripple market.

Can I get alerts when the Ripple Fear and Greed Index changes?
